Questions

The ones we get asked most

Does FernCredit lend the money itself?

No. We are an enquiry and matching service. We are not a bank and not a licensed moneylender, and no money ever comes from us. Our job ends when you and a lender are talking directly — every dollar, every rate and every contract comes from them.

Is there a charge for sending an enquiry?

There is no charge to send the form and no charge to hear back. We will never ask you to transfer anything to release, unlock or process a loan. That request is the single most common sign of a scam in Singapore, and it will never come from us.

What interest rate will I pay?

We do not quote rates, because we are not the party lending to you. The rate, the tenure and the exact monthly repayment come from the lender in writing before you sign. If anyone quotes you a rate verbally and pushes you to commit on the spot, stop and check who you are speaking to.

What do you need from me at this stage?

Only what is on the form: your name, your occupation, roughly what you earn a month, how much you are hoping to borrow, and a WhatsApp number. Nothing else. We do not ask for your SingPass, your NRIC scan, your bank password or an OTP — not now and not later.

Will enquiring damage my credit record?

Sending us a form is not a loan application, so on its own it does not create a record anywhere. A record is only created once you apply to a lender directly, and by then you will know exactly what you are applying for.

What if my income is low or irregular?

Say so on the form. Plenty of the people we hear from are self-employed or paid unevenly, and that is a normal case rather than a problem. It does change which loan type makes sense, which is exactly why we ask before we answer.
